2023-2024 Announcements!
Carrizo Directors: WGVBA is pleased and privileged to announce the appointment of Courtney Titsworth, Eloisa Torres, and Odulia Ortiz as WGVBA Directors. While serving for the WGVBA Governing Board over Carrizo Springs, Uvalde, and Del Rio, Courtney, Eloisa, and Odulia will focus their duties to our WGVBA Carrizo location in serving their local youth.
WGVBA is exceedingly lucky to have the assistance of these ladies who have poured countless hours and support into making the program succeed. In their prior roles as WGVBA coaches, administrator, and parents of our athletes, they have dedicated so much of their time and resources to the program. We’re so grateful to welcome them to their new roles!
Tryouts/Clinics: Tryouts have concluded for 4th grade through 8th grade, and open gyms and tryouts have been scheduled for 9th grade through 11th grade starting Sunday, November 5th. Please visit our Carrizo Tryout page for our clinic and tryout schedule and for more information.
Dues: Annual dues will be $600 to cover the costs of competition (travel and practice uniforms, individual and team registrations, referee and scorekeeper certification, equipment, administrative fees, and other organization costs). The payment plan will be:
- November 1st-15th $200
- December 1st $80
- January 1st $80
- February 1st $80
- March 1st $80
- April 1st $80
Please note, you must be in good-standing with WGVBA to be able to use a payment plan. If you have ended a prior season without full payment of dues, you will need to pay the full $600 annual dues in advance to participate and restore your good-standing.
Teams: we anticipate being able to offer 8 teams from 4th grade through 11th grade. Each team should have between 10-12 players. Athletes can only play with their age division and older.
To determine their age division, the Lone Star Volleyball Region uses their age as of July 1, 2024. For example, if your athlete will be 13 next July because she doesn’t turn 14 until September, then she qualifies for 13U and above.
We always try to keep athletes within their age division, but there may be circumstances where we ask a player to play up in another division.
